{happy new year}

{two new outfits - i'm a lucky girl!}

This year, my family had our big Christmas celebration at the Four Seasons in Atlanta! It was such a beautiful affair and all of the girls were given special dresses to wear! Mine was simply stunning! I loved the ruffled ivory top and the slightly-poofy black skirt - so gorgeous! I paired it with simple ivory peeptoe t-straps {similar to shown} and some fabulous jewelry finds from none other than Target! I WISH I could find the bracelet and earrings on their website, but they are no where to be found and I am just too lazy to take a picture {plus, I really doubt my jewelry photography skills would do them justice}. I can do my best to describe... the bracelet was a 6-strand pearl bracelet, fitted to the wrist with a large, jeweled deep purple, gold and black "flower" in the center {if anyone is familiar with the bracelets JCrew had a few months ago - it was VERY similar to those} and the earrings were simple oversized pearl studs, rimmed in gold! So, so chic!

I found this fabulous sequin dress at Forever21 a month or so ago, and can you believe it's already GONE?! I'm glad I snagged it while I had the chance, because I knew when I saw it, it would be PERFECT for New Years Eve! So fun and flirty and a hint of 1920s flapper vibe - I'm in love! I'm pairing it with a pile of necklaces and pearls, some menswear-inspired peeptoe pumps + black matte tights {it will be chilly after all} and a metal-sequin handbag. I think everyone should always look dazzling while ringing in the New Year - whether at home with friends or downtown in the city!

Please do share your party outfits with me! I love a pretty party dress!

{pecan turtle pretzels}

If you're in need of a last minute, wow-their-socks-off, "homemade" {I'm using the term loosely} treat for giving, entertaining, or just to complement a cup of coffee - Look no further!
Pecan Turtle Pretzels
2 bags of Rolos
1 bag of Snyder's of Hanover Pretzel Snaps
1 bag of pecan halves
{it's pronounced puh-cahn, for those of you saying pee-can - stop that.}
1 baking sheet
wax paper
Pre-heat oven to 350°F.
On a baking sheet lined with wax paper - lay out pretzel snaps. Then, place one Rolo on each pretzel snap.
"Bake" in oven for 3-5 minutes, or until the Rolos are soft {NOT melted}
Immediately after removing tray from oven, push a pecan onto each Rolo {but not too hard - you want the caramel to stay hidden inside}
After you have placed all of the pecans, put the tray in the freezer for 10 minutes {any longer and you'll have a hard time removing the turtles from the wax paper}
Makes about 100 Pecan Turtle Pretzels
ENJOY!
Would be beautiful and ready for giving in a simple white tin and pretty red grosgrain ribbon from The Container Store

{brown+orange}

I recently noticed a certain color combination catching my eye, bringing to mind the classic color combination used by the fabulous Hermes! Such an unexpected chic color combo, that is subtly chic and oh-so-fun!

{barbeque pork + coleslaw on a biscuit}

Today I had lunch at Star Provisions in Atlanta - three words: a-maz-ing!! I had their reknowned Barbeque Pulled Pork Sandwich on a Cathead Biscuit {dressed with coleslaw and pickle - I opted for no pickle} and it was hands down the BEST barbeque sandwich I have ever eaten! It was only slightly embarassing that I woofed mine down and was finished eating 20 minutes before everyone else... What can I say? It was THAT good!! I got an old-fashion sugar cane gingerale to go with my meal, it was so refreshing and pretty in a green recycled-glass bottle.

In addition to beyond-yummy food, Star Provisions also has a really cool, eclectic, eco-friendly-meets-general-store shop that I wish I had known about before I finished my Christmas shopping {that's right, I'm done!! YAY!!} because I could have found something for every single person on my list... Great tabletop and home accessories, pretty+unique Christmas ornaments, retro-inspired candy and other treats - the list goes on! Star Provisions is officially a new Atlanta favorite!

{on the fringe}

Oh! How I am loving the fringe detailing in these finds - very reminiscent of the 1920s or maybe a Native American reserve... either way I'm diggin' it!

{modern stockings for a chic mantel}

Hable Construction is known for their modern take on everyday items for the home and their wool felt appliqued stockings don't disappoint! I love the grown up look of the leopard and zebra {and with that color combo - could almost pass for Tiger stripes... GEAUX!} -OR- the unexpected element of the coral and "Mother" tattoo stockings!
